Where does the blog’s name, To Be Rich Is Glorious come from? It is a part of a quote by a former Chinese leader, Deng Xiaoping who during the 1970′s helped open up the Chinese market through many economical reforms. He said, “Poverty is not socialism, to be rich is glorious.” His words have become the mantra of the rapidly developing post-Mao China we see today, and much of China’s success can be attributed to him.
